Classes and Events
We offer classes and one-on-one tutoring for adults of all abilities and learning levels. We also have Family Literacy programs in which children can work with tutors while their caregivers learn. Most classes are held at our Racine office, located at 734 Lake Avenue in Racine. We also have classes in Burlington and afterschool programs at some schools in Racine. All of our services are free. Class details may change subject to enrollment.

Adult Basic Education:
Strengthen your reading, writing and math skills in a supportive, adult-focused environment.
Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
GED One-by-One:
Our program breaks the GED down into manageable, single-subject modules designed to help you focus on the subject, master the material and move on.
Social studies and Civics: Mondays, 12-2:30 p.m.
Math: Tuesdays 10 a.m.-noon or 6-8 p.m.
English / Language Arts: Wednesdays, noon-2 p.m. or 4:30-6 p.m.
Science: Thursdays 10 a.m. - noon or 5:30-7 p.m.
Learning Lab / Tutoring: Fridays, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.
Computer Essentials:
Understand how to use all of the Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace in this program that leads to a certificate to boost your resume. Available in English or Spanish.

Thursdays, 10a.m.-noon
Tutoring: Mondays 3-6 p.m., Tuesdays, noon-2 p.m.
Work Transitions:
Explore career and job potential, create a resume, practice interviewing, and do a job search in this five-week course.

Money Matters:
a 13-week course to build your financial knowledge and confidence.

Stories and Songs, Cuentos y Canciones:
A monthly program for preschoolers and their caregivers in English and Spanish. Stories and songs help build early literacy.
Monthly, every second Friday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Master English:
Learn to speak, write and understand English in one-on-one tutoring or spall group classes in Racine and Burlington.
Beginners class: Wednesdays, noon-2 p.m.
Advanced speakers: Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.
American Dreams - Journey to Citizenship:
This 8-week program prepare people for the U.S. Citizenship interview. This class is taught in English and students must be a level 3 speaker.
Tuesdays, 6-7:30 p.m.
Family Literacy:
Our Family Literacy program allows parents and caregivers to learn while tutors work with their children on homework, literacy skills and more in a fun, welcoming environment. We have on-site programs at 734 Lake Avenue, a satellite program at Waller School in Burlington and afterschool programs at Julian Thomas, Mitchell, Knapp, 21st Century Prep, Renaissance Taylor, Renaissance Villa.
