Racine Literacy Council is a welcoming place to learn, but its more than that. It’s a community of support. Here are some of our stories.
Alejandra, GED student
“I’m a stay-at-home mom with a blended family of eight, and it was always so important to me to be there for my kids. Now they’re old enough that I finally have time for my goals. I’ve tried taking classes before, but I felt overwhelmed in big programs. I like the classes at Racine Literacy Council because I come in here and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. They take the time to help and really make sure we understand. That’s what makes RLC different. They really care.”
Alejandra has already passed the Civics exam and is preparing for the next two GED exams.
